AVMatrix UC1218 HDMI to USB 3.1 Video Capture

The AVMatrix UC1218 is a compact HDMI to USB 3.1 Gen 1 video capture converter for live streaming, video conferencing, recording and professional AV applications. It converts an HDMI video signal into a UVC-compliant USB signal and can therefore be detected directly by compatible software without any additional driver installation.

The UC1218 supports HDMI input signals up to 1080p60 and outputs the video signal via USB 3.1 Gen 1. Thanks to UVC and UAC support, the converter is suitable for common applications such as OBS, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, YouTube, Twitch and other streaming or conferencing software.

Plug & Play Without Driver Installation

The capture converter operates driver-free according to the UVC standard and requires no external power supply. Power is supplied via USB, making the UC1218 particularly easy to integrate into mobile setups, streaming workstations, training rooms, conference systems or small production environments.

HDMI Capture up to 1080p60

The HDMI 1.4a input automatically detects input signals and supports video formats up to 1080p60. The signal is transmitted via USB 3.1 Gen 1 at an uncompressed data rate of up to 200 MB/s. Video output is UVC-compliant with YUY2, allowing the UC1218 to be used by many applications as a USB camera.

Audio via HDMI or Line-In

The AVMatrix UC1218 can take audio from the embedded HDMI signal or process it via the additional 3.5 mm stereo line input. Audio output is UAC-compliant via USB. This makes it easy to integrate camera audio, mixer signals or other line sources into streaming and conferencing applications.

Which software applications are compatible with this capture device?

Due to its UVC compliance, the device works with a wide range of software including OBS, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, YouTube Live, Twitch and other streaming or video conferencing applications that support USB cameras.

Does the UC1218 need an external power supply?

No external power supply is needed. The device is powered entirely through the USB connection, which makes it straightforward to use in mobile setups, streaming workstations or conference rooms without additional cabling.

What audio input options does the UC1218 offer?

Audio can be captured either from the embedded HDMI signal or through the dedicated 3.5 mm stereo line input on the device. This allows integration of camera audio, mixer outputs or other line-level sources into streaming and conferencing software.

How is audio transmitted to the computer?

Audio is output via USB in a UAC-compliant format, so the device is recognized as a standard USB audio source without any additional configuration or driver installation required.

What video color format does the USB output use?

The USB video output uses the YUY2 color format in a UVC-compliant stream. This format is widely supported by streaming, recording and conferencing applications.

Which HDMI version does the input support?

The device features an HDMI 1.4a input, which automatically detects the incoming signal and supports video formats up to 1080p60.
